Ellis ആണ് രചയിതാവ്. വർഷം 1815 ആണെന്ന് കാണുന്നു. അതിനാൽ തന്നെ മലയാളത്തെ കുറിച്ചുള്ള പുസ്തകം ആയിട്ട് കൂടി ഇതിൽ മലയാളം അച്ച് ഇതിൽ ഉപയോഗിച്ചില്ല (കാരണം കേരളത്തിൽ 1820കളിൽ ബെയിലി ആണല്ലോ ആദ്യമായി അച്ച് നിർമ്മിക്കുന്നത്). എന്നാൽ ഇതിൽ തമിഴ് അച്ചുകൾ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട് താനും. മലയാള അക്ഷരങ്ങൾ റോമനൈസ് ചെയ്താണ് ഈ പുസ്തകത്തിൽ ഉപയോഗിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നത്.
